About Me

Hi there!

I’m Sasha Sklar, a freelance costume designer and craftsperson, who was born and raised in Russia, educated in England and earned a liberal arts degree in English at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. I also hold a Certificate of Costume Design from the prestigious fashion institute, Polimoda, in Florence, Italy, where I was able to study thanks to a Catron Grant for Artistic Development.

In the fall of 2024, I was the first student in 40 years to do the costume design for a mainstage production, working alongside faculty and working professionals to create the world of Men on Boats. I also designed for William & Mary’s 2024/5 entry to the Kennedy Centre American College Theatre Festival, taking a production of The Greenhouse by J. Harvey Stone to the 2024 VTA conference in Richmond, VA, and to KCACTF in February of 2025.
